Hugh Hefner Hugh Marston Hefner or full, was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, 9 April 1926 is the founder and chief editor of pornographic magazine Playboy.

The man who nicknamed Hef, it has been 'successful' make the world of Playboy as a sex icon and has done 'sex revolution' based on the ideology of freedom. Whereas previous Hef is a seller of cartoons to magazines, but also became an editor for the magazine Shaft.

In January 1952, Hufner left his job in the print magazine Esquire, and worked as a gambling house. Gambling profits and some investors deliver founded Playboy in 1953. But because the need for the printing press Hef offered to women named Charlaine Edith Karalus to pose nude in his magazine. Karalus accepted the offer and later renamed by Janet Pilgrim.

Hefner married fellow student Mildred Williams, on 25 June 1949 and has two children, each of Christie and David Paul. Hugh divorce but the marriage ended in 1959, after a dozen years of living together.
